The Kotia of India

The Kotia of India, numbering approximately 105,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Koraput district in Odisha and neighboring Andhra Pradesh, their name recalling their place of origin, Kotapadi. Once food-gatherers, they have largely shifted to plow cultivation. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
