The Bandi of India, numbering approximately 5,900 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Telugu-speaking Scheduled Caste community of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka whose name means "rock," traditionally engaged as landless agricultural laborers and village servants. They are also known as Banda and worship village deities such as Yellamma They are an Indigenous people, with Bandi (Goanese) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Telugu.
