The Baori of India

The Baori of India, numbering approximately 453,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a caste community of nomadic traders in Gujarat and Rajasthan, claiming Rajput descent from Marwar, speaking Gujarati, organized into three occupational divisions: the Kapadia, who sell old garments, the Magnia, who beg, and the Chatnia They are an Indigenous people, with Bavri / Baori as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Marwari (India) is their primary language.
