They are described as a community of India, they are distributed in the Nagpur, Bhandara, Amravati and Garhchiroli districts of Maharashtra They are an Indigenous people, with Gowari as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Marathi.
