The Gangauta of India

The Gangauta of India, numbering approximately 255,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an endogamous subgroup within the broader Teli social complex of the eastern Gangetic plains, especially in Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and adjoining Nepal. The Gangauta are traditionally associated with oil pressing, small-scale trade, and agriculture. They are an Indigenous people in the Teli people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Angika and their primary religion is Hinduism.
