They are an indigenous community of India and can also be known as Kachari, Tippera, Deb-Barma, Tipara, Tipera, Tripuri, Tipra. They are an Indigenous people, in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Kok Borok.
