The Qazi of India

The Qazi of India, numbering approximately 49,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Muslim judicial community of Gujarat whose name means judge, ranked above the Sheikh but below the Sayyed, once serving as religious judges and imams. Teaching, conducting marriages, and medicine-making now support most families. They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
