The Meithei of India

The Meithei of India, numbering approximately 1,865,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a tribal ethnic group indigenous to the state of Manipur in northeast India and the Sylhet District of northeastern Bangladesh and can also be known as Manipuri. They are an Indigenous people, in the Manipuri people cluster of the Tibetan / Himalayan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Meitei.
