The Bhar of India

The Bhar of India, numbering approximately 2,290,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Hindu community of eastern Uttar Pradesh, also known as Rajbhar, who trace their name to Shaivite devotion and claim descent from ancient rulers. They are today mainly Bhojpuri-speaking cultivators and laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hindi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
