They are a Telugu community of southern India and can also be known as Padmajatiyavaru, Matanaga, Adi-Jambava Matanga, Matangulu, Jambava, Adi Andhra, Mathanga, Jambavulu, Jambavalu, Arundhatiyan, Sindholu, Arundhatiya, Purunbhatta. They are an Indigenous people, in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Telugu.
