The Lachiguiri Zapotec of Mexico, numbering approximately 5,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an ethnolinguisic subgroup of the Zapotec, an ethnic group indigenous to the state of Oaxaca, Mexico and can also be known as Zapotec NW, Zapotec de Santiago Lachiguiri, Lachiguiri, Zapoteco de la montaña del Istmo, Lachiguiri, Northwestern Tehuantepec Zapotec, Northwestern Tehuantepec Zapotec, Zapoteco de Santiago Lachiguiri, Northwestern Tehuantepec Zapotec; Zapoteco de Santiago Lachiguiri, Zapoteco de Santiago Lachiguiri, alto, Tehuantepec. They are an Indigenous people, in the Zapotec people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Folk Catholicism. They primarily speak Spanish.
