They are described as a small Southern Nilotic-speaking ethnolinguistic group of the Rift Valley of northern Tanzania. Kisankasa identity today is shaped by social marginalization, economic pressure, and increasing assimilation into surrounding populations They are an Indigenous people, with Kisankasa as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Khoisan people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism. They primarily speak Kisankasa.
