The Moghol of Afghanistan, numbering approximately 9,200 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a large Muslim social community that traces its social identity and lineage to the Mughal period (1526–1857) and is considered part of the Ashraf (foreign‑origin) Muslim strata of South Asia. They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Dari and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
