They are a Han Chinese subgroup whose ancestral homeland is the Hakka-speaking region of southwest China. They are an Indigenous people, in the Chinese people cluster of the East Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Chinese Folk Religion. They primarily speak Chinese, Hakka.
