They are an ethnolinguistic community of Ecuador and can also be known as SHUARA, XIVARO, JIVARO, Chiwaro, Jibaro. They are an Indigenous people, in the Amazon people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Shuar.
