PEOPLE GROUP PROFILE

The Ticuna of Brazil

The Ticuna of Brazil, numbering approximately 50,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the most populous Indigenous people of Brazilian Amazonia, present for at least 2,000 years before European arrival, expanding after neighboring Omagua and Mayoruna populations were decimated by wars and epidemics, then relocated during the rubber boom. They mostly adhere to Animism and Ticuna is their primary language.

Pray specifically for the Ticuna of Brazil

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
readLuke 15:7

Pray that God will convict the lost of their sin, give them an urgency to run to Him for forgiveness, and feel His welcoming arms around them when they turn to Him.

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."
readJohn 6:35

Pray that the lost will come to Jesus and believe in Him, never to hunger or thirst again.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
readRevelation 21:4

Pray that as people place their faith in Christ and walk through challenges, they will find comfort in God's promise of a beautiful future when there is no pain or suffering for those who belong to Christ.

"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
readJohn 7:38

Ask God to raise up believers and sustain them as they cross cultures to share hope with those who need it. Pray that many might come to know Christ and that streams of living water will flow from their hearts so they will never thirst again.
