They are an indigenous tribe of Brazil; reflects a merger between the Kariri of Porto Real de Colégio and part of the Xocó of the Sergipe river island of São Pedro and can also be known as Cariri-Chocó, Kariri-Xocó, Xocó-Kariri, Cariri-Xocó, Kariri-Xoco. They are an Indigenous people, in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Portuguese.
