The Huni Kuin of Brazil

The Huni Kuin of Brazil, numbering approximately 7,200 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Acre people who call themselves Huni Kuin, meaning true people, unlike the outsider name Kaxinawa, or bat people, who fled into the forest to escape enslavement by rubber tappers in the late 1800s, with a Peruvian branch migrating there a century ago. They mostly adhere to Ethnoreligion and Cashinahua is their primary language.
