They are described as an indigenous community of Uganda; a dialect subgroup of Lugbara (lgg) They are an Indigenous people, with Lugbara as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Sudanic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak Lugbara.
