The Nyanja of Tanzania, numbering approximately 69,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an ethnolinguistic community of Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique and can also be known as Chewa. They are an Diaspora people, in the Bantu, Chewa-Sena people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak Chichewa.
