They are an ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Benue, Cross River, Plateau, Nassarawa, and Taraba states of Nigeria They are an Indigenous people, in the Benue people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Tiv.
