The Hedi of Nigeria

The Hedi of Nigeria, numbering approximately 7,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Chadic-speaking people of the Mandara Mountains borderlands, whose oral tradition traces their origin to Ghwa Gula near Gulak before a subsequent migration to Ghwa Gawa, in a highland refuge region that long sheltered groups resisting conquest. They mostly adhere to Animism and Hdi is their primary language.
