They are an ethnolinguistic people of Liberia; a subgroup of the larger Kru people of Liberia and Ivory Coast They are an Indigenous people, in the Kru people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Bassa.
