They are one of five major dialects of Farefare (gur), a language of Ghana and can also be known as Frafra, Kasem, Gurenne, Gurenne. They are an Indigenous people, in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Farefare.
