The Yaure of Cote d’Ivoire

The Yaure of Cote d’Ivoire, numbering approximately 56,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Akan people descended from Baule migrants who left Ghana amid the rise of the Ashanti Kingdom in the 1700s, settling between Ivory Coast's Baule and Guro territories and adopting Mande speech, known for serrated black funerary masks.
