The Baule of Cote d’Ivoire

The Baule of Cote d’Ivoire, numbering approximately 4,395,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Akan people of eastern Cote d'Ivoire descended from Ashanti nobles fleeing an 18th-century succession crisis in Ghana under Queen Abla Pokou, whose sacrifice of her infant son to cross the Comoe River gave the group its name, meaning the child has died. They mostly adhere to Ethnoreligion and Baoulé is their primary language.
