They are an Indigenous ethnolinguistic group found primarily in the Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic (CAR), and parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and can also be known as Monjombo. They are an Indigenous people, in the Pygmy people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Monzombo.
