They are an indigenous ethnic group in southern Ethiopia, primarily living in the Konso Special Woreda and surrounding areas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) and can also be known as Gobeze. They are an Indigenous people, in the Sidama people cluster of the Horn of Africa Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Ale.
