The Kachin of Myanmar

The Kachin of Myanmar, numbering approximately 1,070,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Tibeto-Burman people whose Jingpo ancestors migrated south from Tibet, ruled by the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms before forming independent highland chieftaincies, and who signed the 1947 Panglong Agreement securing approval for their own Kachin State. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Kachin is their primary language.
