The Wutun of China, numbering approximately 3,800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as an indigenous community of Tongren County in eastern Qinghai, descended from Tibetan soldiers and local women, speaking the distinct Wutunhua language and maintaining a strong Tibetan Buddhist identity They are an Indigenous people, with Wutun as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. They mostly adhere to Tibetan Buddhism and Wutunhua is their primary language.
