The Tongren Bonan of China

The Tongren Bonan of China, numbering approximately 9,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Buddhist branch of the Bonan people who remained in Tongren (Rebgong) County, Qinghai, and who are officially classified today as part of the Tu (Monguor) ethnic group, even though they speak the Bonan language and share Bonan origins. They are an Indigenous people in the Mongolian people cluster of the East Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bonan and their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism.
