They are a Tibetan ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Zaskar mountians of India's Jammu and Kashmir state. They are an Diaspora people, in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Buddhism - Tibetan. They primarily speak Zangskari.
