They are found across the Indian subcontinent, especially in India, and also in Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh They are an Indigenous people, with Kumhar as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kumhar people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Nepali.
