They are a distinct group within the larger Cree Nation, one of the most widespread Indigenous peoples in Canada. They are also known as Ililiw, Mōsonī. They are an Indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Cree, Moose and their primary religion is Protestantism.
