They are an ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Chin State of Myanmar and India's northeastern states They are an Indigenous people, in the Kuki-Chin (Zo) people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Mara.
