They are a long‑established Mossi community living in northern Benin, near the borders with Burkina Faso and Togo. They are Gur‑speaking West Africans whose presence in Benin is the result of historic migration from the Mossi heartland in present-day Burkina-Faso They are an Diaspora people, in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Moore.
