The Belizean Creoles of Belize

The Belizean Creoles of Belize, numbering approximately 158,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a distinct Afro-Creole ethnic community indigenous to Belize. They emerged through the interaction of enslaved Africans, British settlers (known as Baymen), and later other Caribbean and local populations during the colonial period of British Honduras. They mostly adhere to Folk Catholicism and Belize Kriol English is their primary language.
