They are an efhnic group located primarily in southern Nigeria and western Cameroon and can also be known as Isangele, Calabari. They are an Indigenous people, in the Benue people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Efik.
