The Kaxarari of Brazil

The Kaxarari of Brazil, numbering approximately 325 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Panoan people of the Amazonas-Rondonia border whose population, near 2,000 in 1910, was reduced to fewer than 200 by the early 1980s through violent attacks by rubber extractors and disease before their territory was formally demarcated in 1978. They mostly adhere to Ethnoreligion and Kaxararí is their primary language.
