The Malis of India

The Malis of India, numbering approximately 6,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a small Hindu community of India, a scheduled tribe of Andhra Pradesh. The Mali are an occupational community traditionally engaged in making and selling garlands with flowers and officiating as priests in village temples and shrines and can also be known as Malis. They are an Indigenous people, with Mali/Malis as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Odia.
