The Handi Jogi of India

The Handi Jogi of India, numbering approximately 26,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of Hassan and Bengaluru districts in Karnataka. The Handi Jogi migrated to Karnataka from Andhra Pradesh, where they traditionally worked as pig-rearers and alms-seekers. Most today are agricultural laborers They are an Indigenous people, with Handi Jogi as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism. They primarily speak Kannada.
