The Sangtam Naga of India

The Sangtam Naga of India, numbering approximately 121,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Naga group of Nagaland whose name means one who lives in peace, having migrated from a distant eastern region. Shifting cultivation and forest produce collection remain primary, and most have adopted Christianity. They are an Indigenous people in the Tangsa Naga people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Naga, Sangtam and their primary religion is Protestantism.
