The Tiyattunni of India

The Tiyattunni of India, numbering approximately 550 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a vegetarian community of Kottayam and Ernakulam districts, Kerala, also called Tiyadi Nambiyar, traditionally performers of the fire-dance ritual tiyattum in temples. Agriculture and white-collar work now supplement this role. They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
