The Namdeo Maratha of India

The Namdeo Maratha of India, numbering approximately 5,100 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Thanjavur and northern Tamil Nadu descended from Maratha soldiers of Shivaji, also called Bhavasara Kshatriya, following the saint Namdev. Tailoring and dyeing remain their traditional occupations. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
