They are a community of Haryana and Punjab whose traditional occupation is making kuch (weaver's brush), and treating ailments as singhikat healers. Many now repair shoes or work as wage laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hindi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
