The Cakkyar Nambiyar of India

The Cakkyar Nambiyar of India, numbering approximately 1,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an Ambalavasi temple-service community of Kerala, traditionally playing the milavu drum to accompany Chakkyar Kuttu and Kudiyattam performances. Their name derives from Slaghavakkukar, meaning "those with eloquent words". They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
