The Yite of India

The Yite of India, numbering approximately 325 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small nomadic community of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts, Andhra Pradesh, whose women perform acrobatics on a tall bamboo post called geda. They travel village to village during harvests, collecting grain. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
