The Patanwadia of India

The Patanwadia of India, numbering approximately 55,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Kheda, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara districts in Gujarat also called Thakar or Dharala, named for Anhilpur Patan. Once bodyguards for wedding processions, today agriculture, carpentry, and diamond-cutting are common occupations. They are an Indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Gujarati and their primary religion is Hinduism.
