They are an indigenous community of Mexico, coastal south Sonora around Navojoa (Huatabampo); north Sinaloa (Los Mochis, Guasave, San Jose Rios, north of Guamuchil) They are an Indigenous people, in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Folk Catholicism. They primarily speak Spanish.
