They are a Hmong-Mien ethnolinguistic group indigenous to southwest China and adjacent border areas of Laos and Thailand. They are an Diaspora people in the Miao / Hmong people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Hmong Njua and their primary religion is Roman Catholicism.
